My friends and I went to a Metallica concert a few years ago. We had the bright idea to pre-game in the parking lot before the show. We get to the concert venue a few hours early and hangout and drink in the car, I had the bright idea to finish an entire 12 pack of beer before the concert because I wanted to be intoxicated throughout the entire concert. After I finished all 12 beers, we went inside and I started feeling pretty good. When we got to our seats, it was a different story. I was so drunk that I could barely stand up.
I was acting pretty sloppy during the show. The band noticed. But rather than having security escort me out, they thought I was funny. They had security come up to us at the end of the show and ask us if we wanted to come backstage for a meet and greet with them. They told me that they liked my party-hard style and invited us on their bus to hang for the rest of the night.

They asked me if I played guitar and I said no, so we ended up playing around with some of their instruments while they taught me a few chords on the guitar. I ended up being given on of their guitars and a parting gift. I wonder what it’s like to be so rich that you can give away a piece of $3,000 equipment without batting an eye. The night went on, more alcohol was ingested and more music was played. I can’t really tell you what happened the rest of the night because I slightly blacked out. I woke up feeling like crap the next morning but that was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had. I’ll probably never drink that much again. That was reckless and I got lucky that the night ended up in my favor. That is where my interest in music took off and I still use the guitar they gave me.
